Posts can present a challege when they rest on a sundeck surface that is exposed to the elements. In new construction where the post will be covered with some sort of cladding, it is simply treated as 4 outside corners. Vinyl decking material is run up each side of the post and the corners are overlapped and heat welded. The cladding takes care of protecting the terminating edge of the vinyl. Where there will be no cladding on a post, the terminating edge of the exposed vinyl must be carefully caulked to seal between the post and the vinyl membrane.
